Farewell
What can I say… this week marks my last week at Hippo, and it’s a pretty surreal feeling. I’ve known this day was coming, but it still doesn’t quite feel real until you’re in it.
When I started, we were around 60 people. I’m leaving with that number sitting somewhere around 900. Watching that growth from the inside has been something else. What a journey it’s been.
The projects have been awesome. Hard days, good days, and plenty of the messy ones in between. The ones that actually teach you something. I’ve been lucky enough to work on things that mattered. The bit I’ll carry with me isn’t a release or a project. It’s the conversations, the banter, and the way people show up for each other when it counts. I’ve had the absolute pleasure of working with some crazy talented humans along the way.
I’m still not entirely sure how nap time became a thing… but if you know, you know. Clients commenting that we’re basically like brother and sister… and again, iykyk. Places like Hippo collect their own little myths… especially if you were on a bus to/from Bristol.
Massive thank you to everyone I’ve worked with, laughed with, argued with, survived deadlines with, and shared far too many questionable moments with over the years. You made it what it was.
It’s been one hell of a ride, and I’m genuinely grateful to have been part of it.
Thank you all. It’s been a pleasure.
